Use It or Lose It
At Annai Tamil Academy, we follow a “use it or lose it” policy regarding trimester examinations. This means that students are expected to take their scheduled exam dates. Missed exams will not be re-administered and the corresponding scores will not be awarded. This policy is in place due to logistical and operational constraints common to nonprofit organizations, such as volunteer availability and the challenge of maintaining fairness with alternate question papers.
Our primary goal is to help students consistently strengthen their Tamil language skills. While we understand that unavoidable situations may occasionally prevent a student from attending an exam, and such instances are taken into consideration. However we strongly discourage missing exams for non-essential reasons.
Student assessments are based on multiple criteria, including attendance, homework completion, and performance in trimester exams. Missing a single trimester exam will result in a minor reduction in the overall grade percentage. However, as long as students maintain regular attendance, complete their assignments, and perform well in the remaining two trimesters, their final grade and academic progression will not be significantly impacted.
